Andy Goldsworthy
I first learned of Andy Goldsworthy after I randomly rented his film, Rivers and Tides:Andy Goldsworthy Working with Time. I loved watching is process in creating art and then watching his art to deteriorate or collapse. The way he looks at objects in nature is fascinating to me. Since watching his film I look at objects in nature differently.
Andy Goldsworthy is a British artist who is both a sculptor and a photographer. He is best known for his sculptures which can be described as land art. He uses found objects in nature such as ice, snow, stones, wood, leafs, clay and more to create sculptures, some that are temporary and others that are permanent. He studied art at Bradford College of Art and Preston Polytechnic.
"Even in winter an isolated patch of snow has a special quality."

"Ideas must be put to the test. That's why we make things, otherwise they would be no more than ideas. There is often a huge difference between an idea and its realisation. I've had what I thought were great ideas that just didn't work."
