This article " A Matter of Time" shows the use of time as a figuration in various works of art. Works of art by Salvador Dali, Rene Magritte, Prachuap Chaikham-udom, and Mauricio Matta are described as pieces of art that in some way involve time. Salvador Dali's painting The Persistence of Memory is described as " probably the most famous example of time in art." The painting is of melting clocks. Rene Magritte painting La Duree poignarde has the presence of time in the clock on the mantlepiece and the title of the painting as well which is translated as " ongoing time stabbed by a dagger.". Prachuap Chaikham-udom painting "Time of a Rose" is showing a passage of time through the life cycle of a rose. The last piece of art described is a metal sculpture called "Time Guardian" by Maurico Matta and it depicts time travel. The point made in this article is that time is always present in art.
Time is always present in my photography. Some images depict seasons, decay, and new life. I've gone back to sites where I photographed and tried to remember where I was standing when I took the original image and if that original image could be produced again, but over time the settings change. I love looking at old photographs and seeing the change in times and I think that is one of the most refreshing qualities of photographs.
